I’m back from San Diego Comic-Con and after sleeping for 3 days straight, I’m finally ready to post some updates. It was an amazing show that definitely ranks up there as one of the best for me. However, it wasn’t because of panels I saw or booths I visited but the various events I was able to host or participate in. The Building a Geek Brand panel has become one of my favorites I have hosted in a few cons this past year. Not only do we hear the unique journey of different content creators but also workshop a couple of struggling brands in hopes of given them some clear next steps.
Panel description:
Do you have a big idea that could change the pop culture world but don’t know what to do next? Feeling stagnant in your brand and want to turn it into a career? Started your business but struggling to take it to the next level? Industry pros will share some of their trade secrets to taking a big idea and turning it into a rewarding professional career that shapes culture. Tony B Kim (Hero Within, Crazy 4 Comic Con) hosts panelists Chris Gore (Gemr, Film Threat, G4), Steve Araujo (Nerd Fu), and Ani-Mia (professional cosplayer).
You can download the podcast here. Thanks for listening and leave your comments with your thoughts!
I really enjoyed this panel also. It is always great to hear how people got their start and even better when it is a geek brand. It was great to learn of other brands to follow too.
