Spoiler Free Thoughts on Infinity War

IWI took in the 10:30 PM showing of Avengers: Infinity War last night and from the moment I left the theater three hours later, I have been utterly speechless. This is the moment that Marvel has been building up to for the past ten years and fans have had pretty high expectations. I can tell you that in my eyes, and those of everyone I have spoken with regarding the film, those expectations have been far surpassed. The Russo brothers have truly outdone themselves this time. While each actor performed wonderfully in the film, the writing is what I was most impressed with. I’m so proud of those Cleveland boys.

If you have managed to stay spoiler free and have your own theories, you might as well scrap them right now. The movie is SO much bigger than we could have imagined. From the moment it begins, it never slows down. It clicks along right out of the gate. There are fabulous character pairings, hysterical dialogue, and serious loss. It’s a bit of an emotional roller coaster to be honest.

It’s been almost 12 hours and I am still finding it difficult to come up with the words to adequately express how incredible this movie is. The amount of characters and events featured in the two hour and forty minute film should have been overwhelming, but somehow it seemed perfectly balanced.

Suggestions:

*Use the restroom before the movie. It’s lengthy, and if you have to get up you WILL miss good stuff.

*Bring tissues. There might be tears.

*Make sure you go somewhere with comfy chairs. Again, lengthy.

*Don’t spoil it for others. When you leave the theater you are going to want to talk about this baby (if  you can even form coherent sentences). Do everyone a favor and don’t share spoilers. Let’s give everyone a chance to see it.

Have you seen it yet? Comment below and tell me what you thought, or tweet me at @amlehr. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

  1. This is an awesome review and thanks for remaining spoiler-free. I absolutely LOVED the movie and agree with everything you wrote here. The pacing was so on point that I honestly thought that there was at least another hour of story coming and then it just ended. I wanted more! (Louisa)
