Since the beginning of the ‘cosplay is not consent‘ movement a couple of years ago, there has been more awareness around enforcing proper etiquette with those in costume at various comic cons. Regardless of how someone is dressed, it’s never ok to make lewd comments, ogle or touch a cosplayer without their consent. If you are not a regular cosplayer, it would be easy to think that because of more social awareness, the problem has now been solved and we can move on. Shot at this past weekend’s New York Comic Con, The Huffington Post captured these cosplayers thoughts on the subject- it’s a good reminder to stay vigilant. Whether you are in costume or out, we should all be heroes and make our cons safe.
