I’m excited to be back at Chicago Comic Con for a 3rd year in a row! Being one of Wizard World’s biggest shows, this is one of my favorite annual traditions. It’s an incredible line up of vendors, artists, and guests. I’m pumped to be moderating some awesome panels and participating in some ConTV streaming programming. Check out my schedule below:
Friday
1:30-2:15PM GEEK WARS (ROOM 14)
As nerds, we love to have fun but we also like engaging in important cultural topics. Join professional nerds as they battle it out over geek trivia while also discussing relevant social topics like racial stereotyping in comics, feminisms in film, online bullying, and much more. This will be a lively and enlightening conversation that might challenge your view on the pop culture world. Panelists: @SoosheBot @TeamTSD @chicagonerds @jenusellis @crosberg.
3:30-4:15PM MARVEL V DC: THE DAWN OF NERDOM (ROOM 14)
Nothing has done more to bring our fandom to mainstream than the Marvel and DC films. However, not all films are created equal. Join profession nerds as they compare and contrast decades of great (and not so great) films from our favorite caped crusaders. This is must for superhero cinephile of the Marvel and DC universe. @ImAaronJ @docmidnight @crosberg @Stella_Cheeks @mollyjane_k
Saturday
4:30-5:15PM STAR WARS FAN PANEL (ROOM 14)
In four months, we will live in a world enlightened by the existence of Star Wars Episode VII! In preparation, we invite you to a panel dedicated to all things Star Wars. Professional nerds will challenge the crowd with Star Wars trivia, discuss the significance of Star Wars culture, and speculate on the future of living in a galaxy far, far away! Panelists: @ComicBookCandy @DawnXianaMoon @ValorConChicago @9mm_ed
Sunday
1:00-1:45PM THE MOST RACIST PANEL EVER! (ROOM 14)
Got your attention now?! So much has changed in our pop culture world- however, there are still many obstacles when it comes to experiencing ethnic or other marginalized heroes in media. Join us for this challenging topic as multicultural nerds discuss the cultural barriers, systemic problems, and the artistic gaps, that keep us from seeing diverse representation in comics, TV, and film. Panelists: @MySuperSikh @ShareefJackson @INeedDivGms @DawnXianaMoon @DarkAndNerdy
