My Philadelphia Comic-Con Panels

I am so excited to be hanging with PA nerds the next few days with Philadelphia Comic Con presented by Wizard World. It looks like it will be a great show with Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Nathan Fillion, Norman Reedus, and more! I’ll be there helping out with programming and moderating some great panels- so here is my sched!

5-steps-turn-conflict-into-learning-opportunity5:00 – 5:45PM THE ART OF CREATING CONFLICT (IN YOUR STORY)
At the heart of great art and storytelling is creating great conflict. Whether it’s asking questions like ‘what does this character want?’ or ‘How will this character change’, crafting compelling tension is the key for a successful comic, video game, TV show, or film. Come join writers Josh Hechinger and Adam Lance Garcia as they share some helpful tips about how to discover interesting conflict in your story. Moderated by Tony Kim (ROOM 107)

The pop culture explosion through gaming, comics, TV, and film has opened up new opportunities for cultural diversity; however, many obstacles still exists. In this humorous but poignant discussion, diverse geek experts will discuss breaking ethnic stereotypes and what changes need to happen for us to boldly go into the future. Moderated by Tony Kim. 4:00 – 4:45PM DOCTOR WHO FAN PANEL

An amazing panel of ‘Who’ experts will lead a discussion about the significance of this past 5 decades, the end of the Matt Smith era, and thoughts on the new Doctor- Peter Capaldi. Panelist to include: Ken Deep (show runner for Long Island Who 3 convention), Deborah Stanish (Author and Host of Verity! Podcast) and Alisa Stern (creator of the ‘Doctor Puppet’ series). Moderated by Tony Kim (Crazy4ComicCon.com.) (ROOM 113)
