My New Orleans Comic Con Panels

I am super excited for New Orleans Comic Con this weekend hosted by Wizard World. Not only is it the first time to the ‘Big Easy’ but I am a part of some amazing panels. If you are in the area, I hope to see you there! Here are my panels that I am moderating:

Saturday 12:00 – 12:45PM DOCTOR WHO FAN PANEL
Join us for a wibbly wobbly time as ‘Whovians’ gather to celebrate 50 years of adventures with our favorite Time Lord. An amazing panel of New Orleans ‘Who’ experts will lead a discussion about the significance of this past 5 decades, the end of the Matt Smith era, and thoughts on the new Doctor- Peter Capaldi. Join in on the conversation with Aaron Sager (@AaronSagers), Brandon T Seifert (@BrandonTSeifert) and Amber Lyons! (ROOM 244)

There is nothing that we love more than playing games. Whether it’s the latest state of the art video game platforms, table top role playing, or traditional board version, games have captured our hearts and imaginations for decades. However, not all games are created equal. Regardless of platform, what are the common elements that make a game engaging, creative, and replayable? Join us as an experienced panel of game creators/writers like Chris Prysock, Steve Jackson (@SJGames), and Robyn Miller (@ARobynMiller) discuss the best (and worst) game theories across the various gaming industries. You’ll also get the panelists’ top picks for various games in the tech, table-top, and RPG. (ROOM 240)

Screen Shot 2014-02-05 at 4.56.27 PMSaturday 6:15 – 7:00PM ONE-ON-ONE WITH THE DOCTOR: MATT SMITH
English TV actor, thespian and film director, Matt Smith, is joining New Orleans Comic Con for a rare, inside look into his journey as actor. Best known for his portrayal of the wibbly-wobbly Doctor in the BBC’s Doctor Who, Matt Smith has not only left his indelible mark on the 50-year-old legacy, but also taught us that bow ties and fish sticks with custard are cool. Smith began carrying the mantel of Time Lord back in 2009 as the youngest Doctor in the show’s history, and just retired his sonic screwdriver during the sentimental and heartfelt Christmas Special episode this past December. Join us for this 45-minute discussion with Matt Smith as he shares his favorite memories of traveling through time, his growth as an actor over the past 4 years, and how being the iconic Doctor has changed his life. (NEW ORLEANS THEATER)

Screen Shot 2014-02-05 at 5.11.20 PMSunday 11:30 – 12:15PM BATTLE FOR MULTICULTURAL HEROES
The pop culture explosion through gaming, comics, TV, and film has opened up new opportunities for cultural diversity; however, many obstacles still exists. In this humorous but poignant discussion, diverse geek experts will discuss breaking ethnic stereotypes and what changes need to happen for us to boldly go into the future. (ROOM 344/THIRD FLOOR)
