Comic-Con Tip #1: Start Walking

If you have never been to the San Diego Comic-Con, one thing that you can not underestimate is the amount of standing, walking, running, and SHUFFLING you will do. It is an immense amount. Believe it or not, a friend of mine used his pedometer and calculated trekking about 40 miles during the busy 5 days. The most common heard phrase at SDCC is “Robert Downey Jr is awesome”- The second is “My feet are killing me”. So my first of many ‘Tip of the Day’ post is start a regular walking/running schedule. This was the single most effect thing I ever did last year. By fast walking or running just 15 minutes a day, made my convention experience SO MUCH BETTER. Sure you need quality foot wear and insoles, but a regular routine of pumping your dogs will do you wonders in San Diego. And of course, there are the obvious health benefits, live longer, avoid heart attacks, blah blah- but the real reason we are here on this planet is to conquer Comic-Con. IMAG1375Habit experts say, do something for a month and it will become routine. This is for reelz. After a few weeks, running became second nature and now I can’t imagine life not doing it. It has tremendously increased my convention stamina, allowing me to last longer and thoroughly enjoy the shows. Sorry, somehow this now sounds like a Viagra promo- but I guess the effects are kind’a the same :)

So starting tomorrow, start fast walking or running for 15 minutes and keep it up till the show. It will lower your blood pressure, give you more energy, and prepare you for a grueling 5 days in San Diego. If you are already one of those health nuts that runs a marathon every other week…we all hate you- not really (really we do).

      • Nice!!! Forgot to mention that I totally agree. I was flat worn out last year and I thought I was in good shape. I guess it didn’t help that I did the Walking Dead Escape one morning.
